Risk Analysis Training

Entering the global free trade era, OIE as a world animal health organization no longer allows zero risk policies on importation of animal and animal products into a country. Risk analysis is a method developed to assess the risks of animal and animal product importation. This risk analysis is very needed by countries which very much depend on importation. With the basis that professional and skillful risk analyzers will be needed in global free trade, therefore CIVAS in collaboration with the Veterinary Public Health Division of Faculty of Veterinary Medicine of Bogor Agricultural University conducted a training on Risk Analysis of Animal and Animal Product Importation.

Risk analysis trainingThe training was held in Bonita Hotel (Puncak, Bogor) from August 27th until August 31st 2006. It was attended by 15 participants consisting of people from the local government, government laboratories, private companies and universities. The materials presented in this training were focused on good risk analysis, quantitative and qualitative. Participants learned the theory and also practiced in developing a risk analysis for animal and animal product importation. Besides that, other materials which could support the risk analysis process, such as statistic introductions for risk analysis, was also given. The training was tutored by government and university instructors whom are experts in risk analysis. The training instructors were drh. Tri Satya Putri Naipospos Hutabarat, MSc, Ph.D, Dr. drh. Denny W. Lukman MSi, Ir. Etih Sudarnika, MSi, drh. Sri Mukartini, MAppSc., and drh. Syafrison.
