BLITAR – As Eid Al-Fitr comes closer, the Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries Services of Blitar City tries to control Brucellosis, a disease affecting many goats in the city. This condition was discovered after many farmers complained about the issue.
Head of Livestock Division, Muhammad Chisni Purnama, on Sunday (06/07) said many reports on goats in Blitar city were about Brucellosis. The reports were received directly after the service office gave integrated services to 14 administrative villages in Blitar city. To control the disease, a request was sent to East Java Provincial Livestock Services to obtain more vaccines before Eid Al-Fitr. He claims the Brucellosis outbreak in Blitar city has been minimized. Chisni hops all livestock in the city could be free from dangerous diseases by the time Eid Al-Fitr comes.
Brucellosis is a bacterial disease affecting livestock, such as cattle and goat. It causes abortion in the third or fourth month of pregnancy in goats. (sar)
