CIVAS Participation in Eid al-Adha 1435 H

In celebration of Eid al-Adha 1435 H, which fell on Sunday, October 5, 2014, and in line with our mission to improve public role and capacity and provide information on animal health, veterinary public health, animal welfare and environmental health, Center for Indonesian Veterinary Analytical Studies (CIVAS) conducted several public awareness activities and provided medical checkups for sacrificial animals in Bogor city and district area.

CIVAS Family Gathering 2015

To strengthen personal and professional relationships between members and share information on animal health, Center for Indonesian Veterinary Analytical Studies (CIVAS) held a family gathering on Saturday, August 8, 2015 from 08.00 to 13.30 Western Indonesia Time at the Bogor Botanical Garden. The meeting was attended by 26 CIVAS members and families.

CIVAS Participation in JAAN National Seminar on “The Contribution of Dog Meat Trade in Indonesia Free from Rabies 2020”

On May 20, 2015, the Center for Indonesian Veterinary Analytical Studies (CIVAS) was invited to the National Seminar on The Contribution of Dog Meat Trade in Indonesia Free from Rabies 2020. The seminar was held by Jakarta Animal Aid Network (JAAN) at the DKI Jakarta Province Animal and Fish Health Laboratory as part of the Dogs Are Not Food Campaign.

CIVAS in Animal Care Day in Celebration of World Veterinary Day 2015

On April 22 to 24, 2015, the municipal government of Depok conducted an Agriculture and Livestock Product Promotion Fair at Depok City Hall in collaboration with the Indonesia Veterinary Medical Association (IVMA) West Java II Branch and Center for Indonesian Veterinary Analytical Studies (CIVAS). The event was held to commemorate the city’s 16th anniversary. CIVAS participated actively in contributing to the fair and holding a talk show together with IVMA. The event also coincides with World Veterinary Day which is celebrated in the last week of April every year.

CIVAS as Consultant in the Development of the Classical Swine Fever Control and Eradication Masterplan for Indonesia

Classical Swine Fever (CSF) or Hog Cholera is a highly contagious viral disease which attacks pigs of all ages. Morbidity and mortality rates can reach up to 95-100%. CSF has significant economic consequences on local and international businesses through potential trade restrictions between countries. It is one of the main swine diseases in Southeast Asia. This disease was first reported in Indonesia in North Sumatra in 1994. CSF then spread to the islands of Java, Bali, Kalimantan and Sulawesi. Most recently in March 2011 the disease emerged in Lembata Island in East Nusa Tenggara.

On November 23-26, 2014, the 17th Indonesia Veterinary Medical Association (IVMA) Congress, 13th National Veterinary Scientific Conference and 15th Indonesia Veterinarian Wives Association Congress were held in Novotel Hotel in Palembang. The overarching theme of the event was “Increasing the Quality of Animal Health Professional Services to Guarantee the Safety of Animals, People and the Environment”.
